Due to the university consolidating campuses a sports facility was required at the UTS City Campus. Primarily an education facility for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Faculty of Health, the MPSH also provided the campus with much needed bookable recreation space for the students. The project comprised of a sports floor with the flexibility to accommodate several different sports, a dance studio, gymnasium, change rooms, classroom and staff office. The project also included a rainwater harvesting tank which provides water for the toilets, urinals and watering the green roof. The project was particularly challenging due to the lack of space within the University campus requiring the MPSH to the built underground and surrounded by structures on all sides.
